Logic and Trains Concepts

An expansion Concept for the Orbitech Mod. Integrating Node-based Logic and specialized Railway Automation.

1. Project Overview

Logic and Trains Concepts is a sophisticated expansion Concept for the Orbitech mod. It introduces a node-based logic and specialized train automation system to the existing Orbitech kinetic framework.

The goal is to provide players with a "Satisfactory-style" logic infrastructure that moves away from clunky, block-by-block wiring toward a clean, visually intuitive network.

By merging your concepts with Orbitech, players can use the Orbitech base for kinetic power (Handcranks, Waterwheels) while utilizing the Concept for the "nervous system"—wireless communication, logic gates, and rail controls.

2. Core Logic Mechanics

The logic system is built on Point-to-Point Node Connections, designed to solve the "crammed" look of traditional block-based logic.

A. Signal Transmission & Infrastructure

Glimmerchords: Multi-colored wires representing distinct logical channels. Channels allow for parallel logic networks (e.g., a "Red" channel for alarms, "Blue" for lights) without interference.

Nodes (Twine Pines & Poles): Connections are made by clicking on "Pin Holes." This allows for clean, straight-line wiring and 3D routing.

Transmission Limits: Connections have a physical build limit. Long-distance signals require Glimmer Intensifiers, which convert kinetic energy into signal boosting.

Twine Pines: The physical connection point. High customization via pin placement.

Utility Pole

Glimmer Mast: Utility poles with built-in pin holes for complex infrastructure.

Signal Booster

Glimmer Intensifier: Boosters for signal strength. They convert kinetic speed into transmission boosting.

B. Sensors & Inputs

Sensy (Entity) & Stunted (Item) Tenna: Wireless-capable sensors that detect entities or items passing through their range. They connect to another of the same type up to 5 blocks away.

Cinder & Seeker Tenna: Sending (TX - Red) and receiving (RX - Blue) antennas. They adopt the color channel of the connected glimmerchord and flash when active.

Sensy & Stunted: Detect presence and relay signals wirelessly.

Antenna

Cinder & Seeker Tenna: Dedicated TX and RX antennas for wireless logic transmission.

Lever and Button

Lever & Button: Manual inputs with one pin hole. If no pin/antenna is used, they activate the logic block they are attached to.

C. Logic Gates & Processing

Nexus Clusters (Logic Gates): Logic gates (AND, NAND, OR, NOR, XOR, XNOR, NOT) with two pin holes for input and output. They can take either a pin or an antenna.

Logic Gates

Nexus Clusters: The building blocks of complex, conditional logic. They are designed for modularity and high-density signal processing.

Modular Repeater

Link Board & Matrix: Multi-pin connectors. The Board has two holes; the Matrix has three. They are used to pair pins with antennas, pair antennas with sensors, or convert channels as repeaters.

D. Player Control & Microcontrollers

Advanced interaction and automation components for the player.

Resonance Horn

Resonance Horn: The player's remote control. It features four slots for crystals to set channel colors and a radial menu for selection.

Acoustic Receptor

Acoustic Receptor: The receiver for the Resonance Horn. It requires a crystal to set the responding channel and has a pin hole for output.

Orchestrion

Orchestrion: The "de facto" microcontroller. It takes a "Pull Signal" (up for start, down for stop) and automatically plays a Phonic Score.

Phonic Score

Phonic Score: A programming sheet for the Orchestrion. Features a blank inventory to program automatic logic control or music.

3. Train Logic

A dedicated suite of components designed to integrate seamlessly with the Orbitech kinetic network for railway automation.

Track Controller

Rail Router: A train-specific track switcher. It takes a signal over a pin hole and directs a train down a different track (supports 3 states: left, right, middle).

Track Responder

Track Chime & Responder: Devices to pass signals to/from trains traveling above, facilitating remote signaling and rail coordination.

Chute Gate

Chute Guard: A logic-controlled gate for chutes. Signal pull-up opens; pull-down closes.

Metabolic Agitater: Processes compost into Nitrate, Fertilizer, and Potash.

Heater Core

Heater Core: Automatically bakes Etched Wafers into Link Boards (also cooks food).

Kinetic Roller

Rod-Mil: Automatically turns metal plates into metal tubes, or metal ingots into metal rods.

5. Player Experience

The progression path for players exploring the new logic and train systems.

Beginner Entry Points

  • Manual Power: Using a Handcrank to power a Kinetic Spinner.
  • Simple Logic: Using a Lever to turn on a light.
  • Basic Railway: Using a Track Chime and Chime Ear to send a simple "Pass" signal to a train.

Advanced Play

  • Wireless Automation: Using Stunted-Tenna sensors to detect full bins and trigger a Packager via a Link Board.
  • The Orchestrator: Programming an Orchestrion with a "Growth Cycle" score to cycle through machines.
  • Automated Rail Hubs: Using Rail Routers and Chute Guards to coordinate a fleet of trains.

Build Scenarios

Scenario 1: The Automated Flax Farm

A Waterwheel powers a Kinetic Spinner and a Milling Stone. A Stunted-Tenna detects when the Flax bin is full, signaling a Chute Guard to release the processed Flax.

Scenario 2: The Orchestrated Orchard

A large kinetic network powers various mixers and processors. The Orchestrion is programmed with a "Growth Cycle" score, activating the machines in a specific sequence every 10 minutes.

Scenario 3: The Rail Logistics Hub

A large-scale kinetic network powers the heavy machinery for packing. Rail Routers and Track Chimes coordinate a fleet of trains. Sensors detect cargo types, and Rail Routers direct the trains to the correct "Track."
